The Doon Valley Railway, part of the heritage railways in Scotland, is operated by the dedicated volunteers of the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group (Registered Charity No: SC016127) which was formed in 1974 to preserve steam locomotion in Ayrshire. Our mission is to create a living museum where historically significant industrial steam and diesel locomotives can be experienced in Scotland's last authentic industrial railway setting.
