In run up to Small Business Saturday Alerus offers support.

Alerus demonstrated its support of small businesses by sponsoring an online sweepstakes on Alerus’ Facebook Page that encourages customers to shop on Small Business Saturday. Alerus will give away three $100 gifts cards to be spent on November 28, 2015, at a small business of choice.Small Business Saturday is a shopping holiday held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. This year it falls on November 28, 2015.

Only in existence since 2010, Small Business Saturday has quickly grown in recognition and is widely embraced by shoppers who appreciate the value small businesses provide to a community.

“We wanted this sweepstakes to honor the small businesses in our communities,” Alerus Customer Segment Manager Jon Handy said. “Small businesses are the heart of the communities we serve.”

Alerus is awarding three $100 gift cards to its Facebook fans who answer posted questions on the Facebook Page and are then entered into a random drawing. A different question is posted on each of the three Fridays in November leading up to November 28, 2015.

There are no right or wrong answers to the questions. Instead, the company chose questions that encourage sweepstake participants to pause for a moment and think about their shopping preferences.
