<p>Rural Rising Philippines (RuRi) is a collective grassroots effort to help distressed farmers get back on their feet and once again feed the nation with pride. It is an accidental advocacy, created in April 2020 when a social media post about unsold tomatoes being given away for free went viral. RuRi has grown to 50,000 members and 300,000 followers, a buying bloc that organizes Rescue Buys™ all over the Philippines. To help consumers too, it distributes the produce at half the supermarket price.</p>
