Royal IHC Acquires SAS Offshore

Global market leader for efficient dredging and mining vessels and equipment Royal IHC finalised its acquisition of SAS Offshore. SAS are a company specialising in designing and manufacturing reliable deck equipment for the offshore oil and gas market.
Representing SAS Offshore were Ploum Lodder Princen, who were led by partner Tom Ensink and associate Huub Pilgram. Ploum Lodder Princen acted as Dutch counsel, and the deal was connected to another transaction whereby IHC purchased a majority stake in Brastec Technologies SA.
The negotiations took place partly in Rotterdam, and partly in Rio de Janeiro. Speaking about the acquisition, Tom Ensink from Ploum Lodder Princen commented: “I thought it was nice to see how the deal teams worked very well together, and the Brazilian-Dutch combination worked very well. One could say “Laranja Mecânica” shifted to orange-yellow-green but continued to work as a team. We certainly did not notice any of the purported cultural differences.”
