Kelcey & Hall is a firm based in both Bristol and London. Our Bristol offices are at 17 Small Street, Bristol immediately opposite Bristol Crown Court. Our London office is 107 Cheapside, London, close to the Old Bailey.

Kelcey & Hall are a firm that specialises in criminal defence and serious fraud work. In addition to that, we have a family practice dealing with divorce for high net worth individuals.

The firm opened in 1984 and has been going ever since. We have been growing from strength to strength and we are now delighted to be members of the Leading Adviser Awards. This in turn increases our profile and prestige.

Within our jurisdiction, we see that there are many challenges and opportunities. The opportunities are to develop specialisms in such areas as cybercrime and general debt protection regulations. This is something we have done and the expertise within the practice is nationally regarded. In addition to that, our general crime department deals with high profile cases such as murder, sexual abuse and drug conspiracies. We are considered to be a firm with a national reputation.

The Senior Partner, Ian Kelcey, is a past Chairman of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association and then subsequently Chairman of the National Law Society Criminal Law Committee. He currently sits on the Senior Presiding Judge’s Better Case Management Strategy Group and is also the Law Society representative on the Police and Criminal Evidence Act Advisory Board. He frequently is asked to comment in the media on matters relating to criminal defence.

One specific area of legal expertise we have is a motoring department headed by Billy Olaniyi, which deals with all types of motoring offences, with the intention of keeping the driver on the road. We travel all around the country defending in these cases.
In addition, we have a serious crime and serious fraud department both headed by Ian Kelcey.

Our clients come from all spectrums of life. Some can be high net worth individuals, others can be from extremely poor backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the level of service we provide to our clients, and our staff are trained to ensure that all clients are treated equally and fairly. We are extremely lucky to have a stable staff base, many of our staff have been with us since either qualifying or, indeed, some qualified with us. Our support staff have on average been with us at least 10 years. We are extremely grateful to our staff for the vital role they play in helping us to assist clients.

In the year 2017, we will be promoting our cybercrime department in which we will be seeking to educate people as to the dangers of cybercrime, but also ensuring that we continue topping up our expertise to enable us to defend in such cases proactively.
We have always taken the view that whether your case is a criminal case or a family law case, it is you the client that matters and we put client satisfaction at the very top of our agenda.

In family law, the family law department is headed by Gillian Hall who is an experienced and thorough family lawyer who in 2012 was voted Solicitor Advocate of the year in the Bristol Law Society Awards. Gillian has dealt with a number of cases involving high net worth individuals, some with complicated business arrangements, some with complicated shareholding arrangements and also those with long standing family assets and trusts.

You can be sure that if you entrust your representation to Kelcey & Hall, you will be well looked after and fairly and forcefully represented whatever your problem.
