Influential Businesswoman Awards 2026 | 37 more, Tiffany has also focused on building maternity leave programmes to support mothers with both their leave and their return to work plan. Looking to the future, Tiffany recently accepted a Board seat at FreightInsure and has officially stepped into her role as Executive Director – Product & Operations. This role represents the hard work and dedication Tiffany has demonstrated throughout her career, as well as a more prosperous future for ambitious female leaders everywhere. “I was fortunate to have been in a business where my value was not blocked by my femininity, and I have had the privilege to mentor and elevate many other women into management roles,” Tiffany reflected. “I am very proud to be serving in my new role at FreightInsure; while I may be the only woman on the Board of Directors, I am confident that I won’t be the last, and we will continue to hire and mentor exceptional women who can drive the industry forward. “I look forward to propelling further female executive leadership across the FreightSafe Group, as well as expansion and growth across the business as a whole.” Contact: Tiffany Sangster Company: FreightInsure Web Address: www.freightinsure.com Tiffany Sangster- Insurtech Leader of the Year 2026 (APAC) & Strategic Leadership Innovation Award 2026 FreightInsure was established in 2022 by the FreightSafe team, built upon two decades of experience as a professional claims manager in the freight industry. After listening to the problems faced by clients and claimants alike, the team embarked on its mission to reshape the sector with a sole goal in mind: to make freight insurance accessible to shippers when they need it. With this aspiration, the FreightSafe executive team developed a product that would provide the cover sorely missing in the market, traditionally seen as too expensive on an annual basis or otherwise unavailable during the freight booking cycle. It took the team some time to source a capacity provider prepared to take its product to market, and 2022 saw the company hiring the staff and building the tech for launch. “Since then, we’ve been partnering up with freight carriers and freight booking platforms across Australia and New Zealand,” said Tiffany, “digitally embedding our tech into their booking flows, and allowing their customers to take up insurance at the click of a button, ultimately protecting customers and solving solutions across the freight market.” Initially joining FreightSafe as a business analyst on a casual basis, Tiffany Sangster has worked within the FreightSafe Group for more than ten years. Today, she stands as the Executive Director – Product & Operations for FreightInsure, and Chief Operating Officer for FreightSafe, leveraging her previous experience in retail management to lead the charge in process efficiency by setting up operations and training teams for operational excellence. After building a team of dedicated professionals delivering innovative solutions to the freight industry, Tiffany was given the opportunity to design a new product and tech platform that would reshape the industry for the better. “I’m incredibly proud of the business we have built and the incredible technical tools that allow us to seamlessly integrate into booking flows and distribute single-trip transit insurance at scale,” she told us. “I’m responsible for all of the systems and people that enable our product, setting the standard of operational excellence in all that we do.” Whilst she has made significant strides in innovating the sector, Tiffany has encountered adversity on her journey. Both the freight and insurance industries are male-dominated, and the COO has been faced with pushing through the noise. Learning that her value as a woman in this space was not assumed but instead must be proven, Tiffany has fought hard to ensure that her voice is heard and her contributions valued. Now in a position of authority, Tiffany leverages her standing to provide opportunities for other women in the workforce, creating a flexible and inclusive work environment. She recognises the importance of understanding what her team needs to support them in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which may involve flexibility surrounding working-from-home, family commitments, and periods of illness. What’s Freight damage is inevitable. The subsequential headache, however, is not. Insurance platform FreightInsure has emerged to prove just this, providing an innovative per-shipment cover that embeds directly into a freight carrier’s or platform’s existing workflow, with no upfront cost, claims risk, or technical lift. Steering this groundbreaking mission is Tiffany Sangster, Executive Director – Product & Operations at FreightInsure and a recent recipient in the Influential Businesswoman Awards 2026.
