Until recently, several different fire extinguishers have been necessary for tackling the varying types of fire, however Firexo’s all in one solution can be used on all fire types. The fire industry has not been positively disrupted in this way for several decades and Firexo’s extinguishant solves a range of critical problems in one fell swoop. Firexo recently performed successful tests at RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden AB, an independent, ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory) on both small and large lithium-ion multi-cell batteries, consisting of 30 individual batteries within a casing, and insulated. Thermal runaway of the batteries was observed before spraying Firexo onto the fires via an extinguisher. The test results indicated that Firexo lowers the internal temperature of a battery cell F Aug21807 undergoing thermal runaway, reducing the size of resulting jet flames as well as inhibiting thermal runaway and temperature propagation in the cells; all critical factors in the suppression and control of lithiumion battery fires.
