He expanded his services the same year, branching into the investment side of the business as a Wealth Manager. From 2017 to 2019, West held the role of Chief Compliance Officer at InvestLinc Wealth Services. After that, he rose even further within the organization, first being appointed Chief Investment Officer in 2019 and then Chief Executive Officer in 2024. West has made significant contributions to the landscape of InvestLinc Wealth Services throughout his time with the firm. “When I first took over as Chief Investment Officer in 2019, we were managing roughly $30 million of assets,” he reflected. “Now in 2026, we are managing over $120 million.” Of course, success has come with challenges. For West, one of the largest challenges in this field has been developing a distinctive investment philosophy that works in all market cycles. In a market that can often be irrational and unpredictable, West drew great strength from mentors Warren Buffett and Howard Marks. Buffett taught West about the importance of patience and high quality assets, whilst Marks taught him about market cycles and the importance of humility. West has learned many valuable lessons along the way, honing many qualities that he attributes to his significant success. “The most important quality is to be 100% honest even if it’s uncomfortable,” he said. “Being analytical helps assess investment opportunities. The ability to communicate clearly and to simplify complex topics is critical to mutual understanding.
