Business Excellence Awards 2021

18 Acquisition International - Business Excellence Awards 2021 Best PR & Digital Content Consultancy 2021 – Midlands Be Bold Media ny business knows that growth and success comes from the ability to adapt. Like Darwin actually said, it’s not about the survival of the fittest. It’s about being able to change according to your environment. There are very few businesses in the UK which have been untouched by the pandemic, or indeed will have prepared for it. But in 2020, Be Bold Media once again demonstrated that an agile approach and ability to deliver value for clients in fast changing circumstances is a recipe which works. Celebrating a decade in business this year, Be Bold Media is a UK- based strategic PR & communications consultancy which has some of Europe’s biggest household names within its client experience. Managing director Amy Bould says: “We are very much a team of story-tellers first and foremost. Good content needs to entertain and engage first, before it can educate and drive change. And everyone loves a good story. “Our story-telling has been honed in busy daily newsrooms and all that’s changed in the last ten years has been the way in which people consume those stories. What might have been a front page lead is now a tweet, an Instagram reel, an eight-second video clip or a meme. “There’s a lot of content and social media noise out there, our campaigns break through the cacophony. They make people sit up and notice. Our content activates the audience it is targeted to, sees them make a decision or form an opinion which aligns with the aims of our clients.” Be Bold Media delivers strategic communications, PR, social media campaigns and crisis communications support to both the public and private sector. The former ranges from UK local authorities needing specialist crisis communications to the Department for International Trade, which recently commissioned a library of case studies to support export promotion post Britain’s exit from the EU. In the private sector, the company works across a range of industry sectors, including food & drink, manufacturing and greentech. It’s previously worked with the likes of Muller Dairy, office supplies giant Lyreco as well as charities including the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. “Most of our work is B2B but we also deliver extensive communications campaigns in the care, education and third sector. Our aim, no matter who the client, is to make a difference, to have impact and ultimately deliver real results. We are not about smoke and mirrors, we think what we do matters,” says Amy. A That approach is embedded in Be Bold Media’s vision: Better communities, better businesses and better lives thanks to the people and organisations which trusted us to tell their stories. Amy added: “Those aren’t just words to us. Using creativity, imagination and strategic know-how, we reach audiences and engage people, sparking interest and driving change. Our strength lies in our team. As individuals, we each bring outstanding experience, expertise and insight from business, industry, the private and public sector. Together, we are a world-class creative and effective force, working hard to deliver ‘better’ for our clients, our communities and each other. “ It is perhaps Be Bold’s focus on its team and the relationships it forms with clients which also sets themapart. Amy talks about excellent working relationships “built on honesty, trust and reliability” and a company culture of “mutual care, respect and compassion for their working family.” It is a set of values which has helped the company achieve year on year growth, despite the pandemic which actually saw Be Bold Media achieve a record year. “During the pandemic we actively supported private sector clients which faced significant loss in revenue by continuing to provide a level of support at our own cost. It was vital that businesses continued to communicate with their customers, suppliers and importantly their staff during a fast-changing situation. “This saw key members of our team remain in post to support businesses while our clients needed to furlough, in some cases all, their own staff. “Be Bold Media helped clients maintain a presence on social media by delivering regular updates and helping them prepare for a return of custom once the economy started to recover. “Clients we supported in this way have acknowledged that their return to ‘normal’ after lockdown was quicker and easier thanks to our ongoing input on their behalf.” And there’s every reason to think be Bold Media should also be optimistic for the future. The company launched a new drone imagery service in 2021 after becoming an authorised CAA operator in response to increased demand for its wider content services from local authorities, developers and the construction sector.
