BCS creates flexible work-life structures for their team so they can have fulfilling careers, strong family lives, and pursue personal growth, which aligns with their vision of women building the futures they dream for themselves and their families. Proud Wisconsinite, comedy lover, and women empowerer, Kiley Peters, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BCS. She tells us a little more about their unique ethos. “We believe women can have their cake and eat it too!” she begins. “So, at Brainchild Studios, we like to say we’re baking cakes and handing out forks. No more choosing family or a career. We believe women can have both and we hang our hats on creating work we’re proud of, with a team we respect and enjoy, for clients we really like!” “We work with growth-minded, service-based brands we believe in and people we genuinely admire. We considered ourselves pretty lucky, but at the same time, this has all been designed quite intentionally.” The company started in Chicago in 2016, is currently headquartered out of Milwaukee, and operates as a virtual agency so they can handpick the best national and international talent. Kiley started her career in digital marketing over a decade ago after she graduated from Marquette University in 2008. After taking some time off to travel, Kiley moved to San Diego, where she began working at the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center at San Diego State University. “After dipping my toes in west-coast entrepreneurial waters (and finally learning how to spell that word), my appreciation grew for my Midwest roots and I wanted to be closer to home, so I made the move to Chicago.” During her eight years in the city, Kiley started and ran a successful comedy blog, an endeavor which opened doors she had never imagined. While running her comedy blog, she continued freelance marketing work for small businesses, and earned her MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. About a decade later, Kiley decided it was time to venture out on her own, investing her experience and knowledge into founding BCS. “Aside from the innate belief that I could successfully organise and run an agency of talented people in a more effective, efficient, and B flexible manner I hadn’t seen before, I started Brainchild Studios for a very specific reason,” she tells us. “I started it so I could create a work environment that would allow me the flexibility to continue doing professionally fulfilling work when I decide to become a mom someday.” At BCS, the team utilises audience research and behavioural tendencies to fuel strategies, drive website traffic, and increase conversions for their clients. Always focused on being the best partner possible, they concentrate on solving business problems with data-based strategies while honoring their core values of acting with integrity, staying curious, and prioritizing people. “We pride ourselves on our approachability, work ethic, and expertise,” she enthuses. “Why wouldn’t we though, when our team members average 10-15 years of industry experience in their respective fields?” The BCS team has grown significantly over the years and currently employs six employees, and almost two dozen independent contractors with varying areas of expertise. “One of the coolest things about our company culture is that it’s based on a very real respect and appreciation for one another. Plus, we’re a boatload of fun!” Brainchild Studios (BCS) is an international, award-winning audience research and content strategy partner for equity-centered brands.
