Acquisition International - Global CFO Excellence Awards 2020 13 Apr20116 Contact: Jeff Jones Company: Twisted X, Inc. Address: 1200 S FM 51, Suite E, Decatur, TX 76234 Telephone: 940 626 4207 Web Address: www.twistedx.com stablished in 2005, Twisted X is dedicated to creating comfortable handcrafted footwear. What originally started as a cowboy boot company, effortlessly transitioned into the casual shoe market along with work footwear, sandals and insoles. Today, Twisted X’s core market is still made up of western retailers along with work product retailers, farm and feed, and also traditional shoe stores. Despite being a small company, the firm has a high growth mindset and run very lean on their staff. One of the biggest challenges they face is the need for better analytics and financial planning, since they are consumed with simply keeping up. As a result, Jeff is now in a transition period one which moves past a focus on the immediate crisis and more time on looking forward to what the future holds and planning for any challenges which may occur. Having graduated with a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Jeff followed the path to public accounting out of college, later working home health care, retail and manufacturing in evolving roles that included oversight or participation in IT, HR, retail management and marketing to name but a few. Prior to joining the Twisted X family, Jeff was working for large footwear company as a Key Account (Sales) representative. During his time there, the position he was in allowed Jeff to combine his hard skills (analytics) and soft skills (people/communication) in a way that offered an insight into how the two can work hand-in-hand to increase cooperation, understand and drive sales. To that end, Jeff would consider a true understanding of all function within a business essential to being a successful finance leader. Aiming to be a leader that helps others to grow and success, Jeff believes that this is a true measure of how good he is at his job. For instance, the stronger the people are that surround him, the stronger the company is. There is always room for improvement, and for Jeff he believes that his biggest areas to work on include pausing to appreciate the good things that are happening, whilst frequently showing his gratitude to the hard-working team by his side. What Jeff knew a decade ago forms part of the foundation for what he does today, although a lot has changed during this time. Curious to know what changes the next 10 years will bring, Jeff is keen to discuss more about how the firm hope to learn how to improve their E Based in Texas, Twisted X is a footwear design and distribution business, creating shoes and boots with comfort in mind.
